Ron started his career as a teacher in an Elementary school and then delved into the field of Social Work where he spent 7 years learning amazing life lessons in the Department of Social Services in Hawaii.
In 1988 Ron moved back into the Education space as an Educational diagnostician conducting an assortment of education assessments. He has worked as the Director for teacher training at a private school for dyslexic and gifted children.
In addition, Ron has consulted to numerous organisations including the Dyslexia Association of Singapore, numerous schools worldwide, the Academic Therapy Centre and more. He has been a Teacher trainer for MSL/ Orton-Gillingham multisensory maths, focused intervention and RTI since 2005.
Ron is proud to be a Director and Founder of the MSL Centre in Singapore, the Orton-Gillingham Centre in Hong Kong, Orton-Gillingham International Inc. Denver and the Dyslexia and Orton-Gillingham Institute Hawaii.
Ron has completed a Bachelor’s Degree in Elementary Education, Masters Degrees in Elementary Education as well as a Degree in Social work at the University of Hawaii in Honolulu.

Ron Yoshimoto is a co-director of Orton-Gillingham International and our Master Orton-Gillingham Institute Instructor. Ron has focused his expertise on developing the Orton-Gillingham methodology for training public school teachers in the general and special education environments using Orton-Gillingham, Orton-Gillingham Advanced methodology, preschool literacy/numeracy, focused intervention, reading comprehension strategy (called “Connections”) and multisensory maths. His devotion includes countless materials that he has developed which he shares selflessly with participants who attend his training courses. Ron's life has been dedicated to teaching Orton-Gillingham to both general and special education audiences for the past 30+ years.
Ron's excellence as a trainer, the devotion of participants and his ongoing support of students and educators exemplify the level of commitment that creates change.
